Using marketing theory and practice to increase the number of transplantable organs is the focus of research for professor Alicia Aldridge. Recently, her work has focused on the characteristics of hospital transplant programs and the effects of those characteristics on the rate that family members give consent for organ donation.

Her work has been published in such journals as Health Marketing Quarterly, Marketing Health Services, Internet Research, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Transportation Journal, Logistics and Transportation Review, Journal of Transportation Management, Review of Accounting Information Systems, Journal of Services Marketing, and Journal of Managerial Issues.

She is a recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship and the Martin F. Schmidt Transportation Award. She has served on the board of directors for the Watauga County Hunger Coalition, and Animal Inn Pet and Wildlife Rescue. She enjoys taking her retrievers hiking and swimming, and driving her 1972 240-Z.
