Jim Stoddard, PhD

Professor

Professor Stoddard received his Doctor of Philosophy in Business Marketing and his Master of Business Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He also earned a Bachelor of Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Dr. Stoddard has held faculty positions at Virginia Tech, the University of New Hampshire and Appalachian State University and has taught undergraduate, graduate and executive development classes.

His teaching areas include Retailing, Business to Business Marketing, Channels of Distribution and Sales Management, among others. Dr. Stoddard is a member of the editorial review boards of two scholarly journals, Psychology and Marketing and the The International Journal of Electronic Marketing and Retailing. He has many peer reviewed published articles in various domestic and international publications, made many national and regional conference presentations and has written many technical reports for both for profit and not for profit organizations.

Prior to his academic career, he was a Marine Engineer for Sun Oil Company (Sunoco).
