Binay Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the Walker College of Business, Appalachian State University. Prior to getting PhD in Marketing from Georgia State University (GSU), he received Bachelor of Technology with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, and MBA in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management.
Dr. Kumar has vast industry exposure as he worked for one of fortune 500 companies in various managerial roles, especially in the area of sales force management, distribution channels, and new tech adoption. He is interested in Quantitative Marketing strategies and exploring relevant issues in his area of interest. He enjoys solving important sales and marketing problems through rigorous empirical methodology and providing actionable guidance to managers.
Dr. Kumar has been the finalist of the ISBM Doctoral Dissertation Award. He is also a recipient of the GSU Provost Dissertation fellowship and the GSU PhD Research Award. He presented his research at various conferences, including American Marketing Association Conference and INFORMS Marketing Science Conference.
