Trish Oxford

Trish Oxford is Special Faculty in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. With over a decade of experience in digital strategy, growth marketing, and demand generation, Trish brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the classroom. Her expertise encompasses B2B and B2C marketing across diverse sectors—education, non-profit, small business, Fortune 500 companies, and start-ups—with a strong focus on e-commerce and digital transformation.

Before joining Appalachian State, Trish Oxford served as the Senior Director of Digital Services at Material Bank, the world’s largest material sampling platform for the architectural and design community. Her professional journey also includes roles at industry leaders such as Yahoo! Inc., Cisco Systems, and Bernhardt Furniture Company, where she developed expertise in technology, sales, and project management.

Oxford's academic background is rooted in the creative arts. She holds an MFA from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco and a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This unique blend of creative and analytical skills enriches her approach to marketing education and strategy.

Beyond academia, Trish is an entrepreneur and creative visionary. She is developing The Mountain Filipina Project, an initiative designed to celebrate and mix cultures in the mountains. She and her partner also founded Boone Cocoon, a glamping resort in North Carolina’s High Country, recently recognized as the #1 glamping site in the United States.

A proud mother of three, Trish balances her professional endeavors with her passion for family, comedy writing, and mountain living. She is committed to fostering innovation, creativity, and cultural exchange in both her professional and personal pursuits.

I am a Growth Marketing & Demand Generation consultant, specializing in full-stack, MarCom strategy. I have worked in B2B & B2C across several environments including  education, non-profit, small business, Fortune 500, and start-ups.

In 2023, after 10 years in digital strategy &  leadership, I am intentionally changing the pace of my life to focus on my family and to pursue personal projects.

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Marketing and Supply-Chain Management at the Walker School of Business at Appalachian State University, which I love.

My entrepreneurial and creative passions converge in The Mountain Filipina Project, which is in development. My ambition is to create a playful space to mix cultures in the mountains.

Previously, I was the Senior Director of Digital Services at Material Bank, the world’s largest material sampling platform for the Architectural and Design community.

My professional experience is anchored in technology, sales, and project management having worked for Yahoo! Inc., Cisco Systems, and Bernhardt Furniture company.

My academic experience is entrenched in the creative arts. I earned my MFA at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, CA and my BA in English Literature & Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

I am most proud to be the mother of three awesome human beings and partner-in-life to a fellow creative entrepreneur, both of which serve as fodder for my passion for comedy writing.

We live happily in the High Country of North Carolina, where we started a glamping resort, Boone Cocoon, and recently won #1 glamping site in the U.S.

Come hang with us sometime.
