Aaron Ratcliffe is an assistant professor in the Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management at Appalachian State University. Aaron received his PhD in Business Administration: Operations Management from The Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill and his M.S. in Operations Research and B.S. in Math Decision Sciences from The Department of Statistics and Operations Research at UNC Chapel Hill. His current research interests are in healthcare operations, medical decision making, service operations, supply chain sustainability, retail operations, humanitarian logistics, queueing networks, and stochastic optimization. He has published in Flexible Services and Manufacturing and is an active presenter at international conferences hosted by The Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS), Production & Operations Management Society (POMS), Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (MSOM).
Dr. Ratcliffe teaches courses in Supply Chain Management and Operations Management. Before joining The CIS & SCM Department, he was previously on faculty at UNC Greensboro from 2013-2018 where he taught courses in Statistics, Management Science, and Operations Management. He has also taught as a visiting instructor in Ludwigshafen Am Rhein in Germany. While completing his graduate education, he worked with UNC Health Care System in various roles related to revenue cycle management, systems analysis, outpatient access and clinic efficiency, and state public health surveillance.
